1940s "Victory" or Patriotic Sailor Dress Here is a wonderful RARE "Victory Dress" that is circa 1940s, WWII era. This was most likely worn to show patriotism during or after the war. Wonderful way to show your patriotism at this time in our country - and your love of vintage clothing at the same time! So for all you patriotic gals out there, this is THE dress for you!! Also the perfect dress for the Fourth of July. So if you have a special Fourth of July party to go to this year, this will fit the bill. You will definitely be ready for the occasion with this perfect dress!! Navy blue dress in a small weave cotton fabric with a crème color sailor tie around the neck. Neckline is a sailor collar with a crème trim around the collar and a wonderful accent of a red, white and blue glass beaded American star!! There are 12 large (1" in diameter) navy buttons down the front of the dress for closure. Darts at the bustline and swingy pleated skirt. Triangular gussets underneath the arms. What a perfect "TRUE BLUE" dress this one is!! Wonderful addition to a vintage clothing collection. Excellent vintage condition, very wearable. The only flaws that we see is a small faint discoloration on the crème collar. We believe that with a professional dry cleaning it should come out. Very minor.
