Vintage 1950s Tulle Strapless Princess Prom Gown with Sequins This vintage evening dress is one of the prettiest tulle dresses that I have seen in some time! What a true "princess" gown this is! The attention to details on this dress is wonderful. Pale blue fine tulle netting is the outer layer on this evening dress. The middle layer is the larger hole tulle netting and then the pale lilac taffeta underlayer. The shelf bust bodice is exquisite! The bodice is boned front and back for support. The strapless sweetheart shaped neckline is accented with a pleated bodice. This is further accented with hand sewn iridescent sequins all across the front of the bodice in a swirl design. This design is further repeated down the left side of the dress where the tulle fabric is scalloped and edged and accented with more sequins. In addition, the middle tulle layer is then pleated accordion style as it is accented between the scalloped layer of tulle. Simply a stunning evening dress that is worthy of a fine evening dancing the night away!! Circa late 1940s to 1950s. Excellent vintage condition. The only issue that was noticed is a small tear in the netting just underneath the side zipper area. Please see the last photo detail of this area. Simply needs some stitches to be back to original, although it is hard to notice as it is due to the folds of the skirt. Also noticed that a small area of the hem has come out of the taffeta underlayer at the hemline. Cannot see this as it is the lining under the tulle. No designer label found, only a paper style number tag sewn into the inside seam.
