1950s Harmay Red Floral Knockout Sexy Dress with Rhinestones Harmay was a wonderful manufacturer of up-scale fashions that were very feminine. According to the book "New York Fashions", Geoffrey Beene worked for Harmany in the 1950s as an Assistant Director. Harmay even credited Beene by name for his designs in their fashion ads in 1957. This is a wonderful example of the designs that Harmay was creating during that fabulous era. What a knockout this number is! Tight and fitted dress that hugs all the right curves and accentuates the positive. Beautiful woven brocade floral cotton fabric that is done in large red chrysanthemum flowers and rich dark green leaves with splashes of golden yellow just every so often. Each center of the flower is accented with red, pink and golden yellow prong set sparkly rhinestones! The fitted bodice is very flattering with its notched neckline in the front and "V" in the back. Darts at the bustline and at the waistline to provide you that flattering fit to your figure. Also small matching fabric piping around the waistline. The dress is fully lined in a white organza type fabric. This is definitely an all-eyes-on-you type of dress! Label: Harmay New York. Excellent condition with no flaws or issues found.
