1960s Wonderful Authentic Pucci Dress / Gown & Robe
SCROLL DOWN FOR MORE PHOTOS
In the 1960s Formfit Rodgers began producing a line of Pucci lingerie that was very progressive for that time. It was a line of fashions that were very unrestrictive in the construction and not as foundation oriented in design. As well as very fashion forward in their coloration and pattern design. No one else has been able to design quite like Pucci, although there have been many imitators. Offered to you is a wonderful example of Pucci that you can now add to your collection.
This lounge set consists of the gown and matching robe. Created originally for entertaining at home, now these fashions are worn outside the home and look wonderful. This set is unique because it consists of the original matching two pieces and that can provide you with more styling flexibility. The gown can easily stand on its own as a sexy slip dress for a special occassion, or simply worn for entertaining in the home. You could wear the robe by it self as a dress or easily layered over coordinating fashions. Be creative with these pieces!! Have fun!
This authentic Pucci design is done in the bold psychedelic colors of hot pink, pale pink, violet, spring green, lemon yellow and white on a background of medium turquoise blue. The robe has a mandarin collar (or a "neru collar" as it was known during the 60s) with a linear design going down the front of the robe where the eight matching self-covered buttons are. This contrasting insert of the print is repeated around the waistline, hemline and cuff of the sleeves. There is one side in-seam pocket. Darts at the bustline. Fabric is nylon. Label at the back of the neckline: Emilio Pucci for Formfit Rogers. Fabric is signed "EPFR" all over the fabric. The robe is in excellent vintage condition with bright colors. The only flaws that we noticed upon inspection are one small 1/2" seam under the arm needs to be reinforced as it is beginning to separate and a small 1/2" long "run" in the fabric underneath the right arm. Also a very small 1/4" in diameter hole in the underside of the left sleeve near the cuff.
The matching gown is a "V" neckline with the contrasting fabric around the neckline, waistline and hemline. There are darts at the bustline. Labeled at the back of the neckline: Emilio Pucci for Formfit Rodgers. Fabric is signed "EPFR" all over the fabric. Gown is in very good vintage condtion but there are several 1 3/4" long snags in the nylon fabric at the back of the waistline and one in the front. Please see the photo for a detail of this area. These "snags" or "pulls" are along the back of the waistline where the contrasting fabric is. Also there is a 2" long seam at the back of this same area that needs to be resewn and also a 1/4" seam along this area that is starting to separate. All this sounds much worse than it actually is. But we want you to know of anything at all that we see. If you have any questions about this, please email us and we can send you additional photos.
