Vintage 1950s Audrey Hepburn Style Dress with Matching Cropped Jacket Fantastic paisley silk print on this dress! Very bold, beautiful yet classic. This dress is reminiscent of something that Audrey Hepburn would have worn. Stylish and elegant. Perfect for so many occasions. The silk fabric is a crème background with a fabulous paisley print of olive green and black. Accents of pale pink are in the paisley pattern. Around the sleeves, down the neckline and around the waistline of the jacket are stripe accents of crème and lilac. This linear stripe accent is also repeated in the skirt for a bold accent and to break up the pattern. The jacket has two ties at the neckline that are shown tucked into the collar of the neck. We thought it looked interesting that way, however, you can wear it several ways. Tied at the neck, loosely hanging down or tucked in. The ties are only 7.5" long. The jacket secures at the neckline with a hook and eye. With the jacket removed, the dress becomes a sleeveless dress with a scoop neckline front and back. Slightly deeper scoop in the back. Matching crème silk fabric fitted bodice with darts and princess seams. Three inch wide pleated waistband accent shows your waist off to its best! Inverted pleats fall from the waist to provide the very full skirt. The skirt is huge! The bodice is lined in the matching crème silk fabric and the skirt is lined in an organdy fabric to provide "body" to the skirt. Very well tailored dress that even has a drapery weight sewn into the skirt hemline so the skirt will hang properly. The jacket is also fully lined in the crème fabric. A beautiful ensemble that is perfect for so many occasions. Please note that the dress was photographed with an extra crinoline underneath that is not included with the dress. Upon close inspection we noticed a small faint spot on the back of the jacket and also a couple of very tiny pin point spots on the tails of the ties that hang at the neckline. Also, very slight, very faint underarm discoloration only on the inside lining of the jacket, not the outside. On the dress there is also some very faint discoloration underneath the arms - however, it is not very noticeable. The dress has not been dry cleaned, so possibly with a professional cleaning it will lift.
