1930s Black Crepe & Ecru Lace Evening Dress with Train ** LARGE **
Simply beautiful describes this elegant 1930s evening gown. Black crepe fabric skims over the body and provides a wonderful drape. What could be better than this - a vintage dress in a larger size! Deep "v" neckline is accented with a 2" wide lace trim. Lace continues around the back of the neckline and is also repeated in a design on the large puffy sleeves. All the lace has been hand sewn onto the dress. Slightly padded shoulders with shirring at the top of the shoulders to provide the proper look for the sleeve. Bra strap holders have been sewn into the inside of the dress. Empire waistline with an inverted "v" between the bust. Darts at bustline and at shoulders to provide draping and contour. The back of the dress is stunning. There is an 10" opening between the top of the neckline and the beginning of the buttons on the back of the dress that provides just a glimpse of your back. There are 15 tiny self covered matching buttons down the back that provide closure for the dress as well as a side 9" metal zipper. The skirt of the dress is very large and has a beautiful short train. Perfect for those "special" entrances into a room. What a statement the back of this dress provides. Very elegant and sophisticated. The dress is in very good condition but will need a few very minor repairs in order to be worn. There is a 6" right side seam in the bodice that needs to be re-stitched. It has come loose with age. Also the lace on the neckline needs just a few stitches in the center of the neckline where it is starting to come loose from the body of the black crepe fabric. Just a few hand stitches and it will be good as new. One spot on the right shoulder where the lace has a small hole in it. We believe that has occurred from all the years of being stored improperly on an unpadded hanger. No holes were seen in the fabric of the dress.
