DOROTHY O'HARA Vintage 40s Bombshell Illusion Dress PLEASE NOTE: MOST OF THE PHOTOS HAVE BEEN LIGHTENED SO THAT YOU CAN SEE THE DRESS DETAILS. THE DRESS IS A MIDNIGHT BLACK COLOR. NOT FADED AT ALL. What a FABULOUS vintage 1940s to early 1950s midnight black dress this one is! Designed by Dorothy O'Hara, the Hollywood costume designer who also designed for the stars. And this dress proves why! This is the perfect little black dress (LBD) for so many special occasions. And a super sexy style too! Very collectible Dorothy O'Hara (Dorothy OHara) dress that is so flattering to the figure. Sexy sheer black illusion net sleeves & a neckline that has that perfect deep sexy plunge at the center of the bodice. Illusion lace insert that is a nude color taffeta fabric with applied black lace over that. The black illusion net is then applied over this nude bodice. Fantastic sexy sweetheart neckline effect! Underneath the bustline is a black velvet ribbon that is accented at the center of the bust by the black velvet bow. This black velvet ribbon accent is carried through to the back of the dress also. The skirt has wonderful draping that is sexy and elegant at the same time. You will not be disappointed in this dress - it is one knockout that will have all eyes on you!! Excellent condition. Upon very close inspection, when held up to the light, I noticed one very tiny pin hole at the back of the skirt and also a very tiny pin hole on the back of the right sleeve in the black illusion nylon fabric. The only other thing that was seen - and this is also minor - is some very slight wear to the black lace that is directly underneath the underarm area of the bodice. This would be very difficult to see when it is worn as it is covered by the black illusion nylon fabric and is underneath the arms. Please remember that this is a vintage garment and it has not been dry cleaned Label: Dorothy O'Hara California and also a Helen of Memphis label. Helen of Memphis is a long gone boutique store for women that was very upscale in their designs that they carried. Only the best clothes were carried there. Circa late 1940s to early 1950ss.
