Vintage 1950s Christian Dior "New Look" Black Cocktail Dress Beautiful 1950s vintage Christian Dior silk black cocktail dress that is perfect for so many special occasions. Deep, dark midnight black fabric that is believed to be silk peau de soie. Please note that some of the photos have been lightened a bit in order to show the fantastic dress details. But the dress is a midnight black color in person. Not faded at all. Wonderful "new look" dress with fitted bodice and princess seaming for a fantastic fit. Exquisite full four tiered skirt with fringe. Original matching fabric bow belt. Bodice is fully lined in silk organza. Beautifully constructed garment that only can be appreciated upon inspecting it in person. This dress is just as beautiful today as it was 50 years ago! Label: Christian Dior New York. Circa 1950s. Vintage size 12 tag. Excellent vintage condition. Beautiful condition! The only thing that was noticed upon inspection is that a small portion of the backing to the belt is starting to come away from the fabric belt portion. If you like, this can easily be fixed by simply applying glue to the back of the belt.
