1950s Christian Dior New Look Cocktail Dress
What an absolutely stunning Christian Dior "new look" cocktail dress this is! Beautiful silk faille fabric in a lovely light blue shade. The bodice is fabulous on this dress. From the front of the dress the bodice appears to be one piece with the two covered fabric buttons undone and the matching bow. What is underneath that fitted bodice is actually a corset design with eight boned pieces built into the corset. The corset is lined in ivory satin and very luxurious. The corset zips up the back and then the outer bodice also has a separate zipper to it. So that the bodice appears to be only one piece, unless you look inside the dress. Provide fabulous fit around the waistline and also superior support for the bustline. So that you can make the most of what you have. The skirt of the dress is gently pleated and full. The skirt is lined in organdy and the hemline is finished off with lace. Excellent condition with only a few very faint small spots noticed on the inside of the bodice creme color satin lining. Superb design and hand finishing on this beautiful dress. A beautiful rare piece of vintage clothing for the discriminating collector. Label: Christian Dior - New York
