Vintage 1950s Samuel Winston Satin Cocktail Dress

This vintage 1950s brown satin dress is classically elegant in its styling. Perfectly suited for a cocktail party or a special occasion. Flattering two-tone satin bodice is angled at the waistline for a slimming effect. Darts at the bustline and diamond gussets underneath the arms. Angled pleats at the waistline for a slimming fit as the skirt extends to a lovely fullness. No pleats on the front of the skirt, but the back has two box pleats and a beautiful two-tone bows that match the bodice two-tone look. Fully lined. No tags to be found on this dress, but I was told by the original owner of the dress that this is a Samuel Winston design that was purchased back in the 1950s. However, we cannot find a label anywhere inside to validate this, but that was common to remove labels from garments. The quality dressmaking is fully apparent in this beauty and you can see it is a a high end garment. We are attributing it to Samuel Winston due to the information we have received from the original owner. Very good vintage condition, with only two small faint marks on the bodice and very faint perspiration spots underneath the underarms on the ivory satin fabric.
