Vintage 1940s Sheer Black Halter Gown & Robe Peignoir Set This is truly one fabulous boudoir or peignoir set! This vintage lingerie set is super sexy and brings to mind the very old style of the Hollywood Glamour years. Super sheer / see-through black rayon georgette fabric with fantastic soft ballet pink and black satin lapels that accent the lapels, cuffs, hemline and waistline. The fabulous sexy gown has a deep plunging neckline and halter straps that tie at the back of the neck. Gentle pleats fall from underneath the bustline to the floor providing a soft flowing full skirt that puddles at your feet. Matching black sheer boudoir robe / jacket accents this boudoir set. Both pieces are labeled "Boudoir Conversation Piece by Bonet". The robe / jacket is marked a size "S". The gown is marked a size "16" in what looks like ink. Believed to be circa late 1930s to early 1940s. Excellent vintage condition. The only thing that was noted upon inspection are a couple of tiny pin holes in the black fabric at the back of the jacket / robe along with a couple of very minor pulls to the fabric in that area. Also saw that where the halter meets the waistline the fabric can use just a couple of stitches to re-attach it.
