Vintage 1930s Black Velvet Opera Cape with intricate metal work clasp Beautiful deep, dark black velvet opera cape with a fabulous intricate metal clasp at the neckline. Please note that some of the photos have been lightened to show you the details of the cape. It is not faded at all - deep black color. This cape is believed to be circa late 1930s during a time known as the "Victorian Revival". The cape is very full with an attached hood and is lined in a creamy satin fabric. Soft shirring at the top of the shoulders. Fabulous silver tone metal clasp accents the neckline. This is THE perfect wrap to wear for a very special night on the town. Very eye catching! No labels were found on the inside of the cape. Excellent vintage condition. No issues were noted on the cape itself except for a couple of small faint spots on the inside of the satin lining near the bottom right side. The cape is being displayed on a modern size 8 dress form but should fit various sizes.
